About Me:
The co-founder and director of Myofunction Remedial & Sports Therapy
Hi, Iām Matthew and my passion lies within improving the quality of life of those suffering from musculoskeletal conditions through the implementation of Manual therapy, exercise and lifestyle changes.
Throughout my schooling I always engaged in as many sports as I could from long distance running, rugby league, cricket & soccer for the majority of my schooling life and have had my fair share of injuries.
In my early years of my high school a close family member was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I learned first hand how this auto-immune disorder effected her and how she has still managed to maintain her positive mindset through many trials and tribulations, this has truly shaped my professional career greatly.
I am fascinated by the human body especially how we move and will go above and beyond for helping people to achieve good health and optimal movement.
My qualifications & experience include:
- Diploma of Remedial & Sports Therapy
- Diploma of Fitness / Strength & conditioning
- Over 200+ hours of clinical neuro-muscular dry needling
- McGill Method Level 1 ā Foundation for the pain-free back
- McGill Method Level 2 - Assessment
- McGill Method Level 3 ā High Performance Training:
Since 2013, I have been a professionally qualified Remedial & Sports Therapist in Brisbane for last 8 years. I have worked with a number of elite sporting teams including NRL Brisbane Broncos, State of Origin Queensland Maroons and A-League Brisbane Roar.
I have extensive experience working alongside the most reputable Sports Doctors, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Remedial and Sports Massage therapists in the industry. This has helped him embrace a multi-disciplinary practice to his therapy.
I am a current accredited member of the ANTA (Australian Natural Therapist Association). I actively attend a variety of recognised short courses and seminars in order to provide my patients with the most current information, treatment techniques and management.
I particularly likes to treat clients with tough cases and has a reputation for being able to make improvements where other health practitioners could not.
